about vetthelet

Renting in the UK is a one-way mirror. Landlords and agents reference you, credit-check you and interview you. You get a 20-minute viewing and a listing written by the person selling it. The mould, the ignored repairs, the deposit that never comes back - you find out after you sign.

VetTheLet turns the mirror around. Tenants who have actually lived in a property score the landlord, the condition, the real monthly costs and the area, and say whether they got their deposit back. Reviews are anonymous by default, so honesty costs nothing.

Search any address before a viewing. If a place has history, you will see it. If it doesn't, you can be the reason the next tenant does: rate a place you've lived - it takes about two minutes.

VetTheLet is free for tenants and always will be. Landlords and agents can respond to reviews without paying either - fairness is not a subscription. Reviews are individual opinions, not statements of fact, and we operate a formal complaints process for anyone who believes content is inaccurate.

No tenant should suffer a bad landlord twice - theirs, then yours.
